Wake Up, John McCain!!

Readers,

A recent Rasmussen Reports survey showed that incumbent Arizona Senator John McCain (R), is facing tough opposition from former Rep. J.D. Hayworth.  The poll showed McCain with a slight edge to Hayworth, 45% for McCain to Hayworth's 43%.  This is troubling for the longtime Arizona senator who was just last year the Republican nominee for president.
Some experts believe that the reason for this poll tightening is the difference between the two Republicans on the issue of immigration.   McCain supports "comprehensive immigration reform," which includes a pathway to citizenship that some commentators have deemed "amnesty".  Hayworth supports ending illegal immigration with tighter border security measures, which some believe have helped him in this race.
These experts also believe that this may be a race that shows the direction of the GOP in the future; whether they will move to the center or to the right.  This was demonstrated earlier this year in the hotly contested New York 23rd District House race, where moderate Republican Dede Scozzafava dropped out of the race and left it to Conservative party nominee Doug Hoffman and Democratic party nominee Bill Owens to slug it out.  Owens eventually won, but the race showed that Conservatives will not put up with a moderate GOP and will move to another party if need be.
McCain needs to watch out, or else he will lost his party's nomination for the Senate.

Kudos, Senate Republicans

Readers,

Today, Senate Republicans stood their ground and said NO to opening debate on Harry Reid's monstrocity that will cripple our healthcare system here in America.  Not even ubber-moderate Republicans Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe (both from Maine), voted to start debate.
I can tell you all with almost certainty that IF passed, American healthcare as we know it will be gone.  The bill the Senate will be voting on is a 2,074 page mega-bill that will drastically damage healthcare.  First of all, it includes the newly famous "public option", which is Democratic code word for government-run healthcare.  With this government-funded dark horse in the healthcare field, private insurance companies will be forced out of business because this public option health insurance company will crowd the marketplace.  It will not be forced to turn a profit because they are run by the government; and if you don't believe this will happen then look at how GM is doing.
Also, this healthcare bill is a JOB KILLER.  It forces companies, even mom-and-pop establishments, to buy health insurance for every worker.  This probably doesn't sound too bad to you but the plans these business have to provide have to be on the list of government-approved plans that this bill mandates be created.  These government-approved plans will be very expensive, forcing small business that have to provide employees with them to either lay-off workers or just close up shop all-together.
Lastly, there is no provision in this bill that opens the purchase of health insurance across state lines.  If people were able to buy health insurance across state lines this would drop the price of healthcare and health insurance.  Because there is no provision like this in the current Senate or House bill, the price of health insurance will SKYROCKET!
Remember, before you make up your mind on whether or not to support this bill, read it and look at every page carefully; this is your health and wealth we are talking about here!

Time's A-Wasting, President Obama!

Readers,

President Obama's indeciveness in Afghanistan is crippling our troops and endangering this nation.  No matter what the left at MSNBC says, this is true and is happening as we breath right now.  President Obama needs to make a decision in Afghanistan, NOW!  Troop morale is at an all-time low and the president's poll numbers are showing that the war in Afghanistan is weighing heavily on the voters' approval of him.  Rasmussen Reports has his "strongly approve" numbers at 26%, with overall approval at 47%.  This is AWFUL for a new president that just got into office earlier this year considering the wave of enthusiasm he rode into office on.  If President Obama wants to turn the tides around to stop the slide (I know, bad pun) he needs to make up his mind, or else he and his friends will pay the price in 2010 and 2012.

Pelosi's D-Day

Saturday, November 7 is the day that Nancy Pelosi is going to have the House vote on the "'Affordable' Health Care for America Act".  This is the famed "public option" bill you all have been hearing about.  DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE A.M.A and AARP, THIS WILL DESTROY AMERICAN HEALTH CARE!!!  Currently, America has the best health care in the world.  Short waiting periods, first-class responsiveness and NO RATIONING is what brings people from countries such as Canada, Britain, and France to America to receive treatment for their illnesses.  In Canada, Britain, and France you have to wait months for something as simple as a CT scan.  All these countries have one thing in common; GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTHCARE.
A young, healthy person can buy basic health insurance for about $57 a month.  If this bill passes and is signed into law, that same young healthy person will have to pay $145 dollars a month.  You all may wonder why this is so.  It is so because that same young healthy person will be required to foot the cost for one of the "government approved" plans that comes with this bill as well as all the bureaucracy that comes with it.
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office scores this bill as costing $1.2 TRILLION dollars.  We simply cannot afford this.  Revenues to the IRS are down 30 percent and it's not bound to get any better.  The only way Obama and the Democrats can pay for this is by to raise taxes when people are already being squeezed by unemployment, family budget cuts as well as local taxes that are rising and by borrowing money from China.  Do we really want to indenture our grandchildrens' savings to the Chinese?  I didn't think so.
When you think about whether to support this plan, just remember this; do you want the same government that can't balance the budget, cover everyone entitled to Medicare and Medicaid or have people actually at the counter at the post office getting their grubby little paws into your health and wealth.
I urge you to call your representative to tell them to vote NO on this monstrocity.  Go to http://www.house.gov/ to find the name and number of your repsenentative and LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!!
